May 16, 2014: "Note to Self"
This is a song about self-preservation. I am particularly proud of it; it was a 100% satisfying experience to write. I don't think I would want to be the person I wrote it about though. Captured at the Unurban Coffee House, Los Angeles, CA, May 16, 2014.
January 19, 2014: For one, for many
In looking it over, it was never my intention to be a celebrity. So far, so good. From the time I started writing songs, I was simply trying to say something to someone--Get that: to communicate something to a person--one person. As I grew and improved and refined my abilities, my desire became to create songs that, though intended as communications to particular individuals, could be understood and felt by others, too (hence, the "popular song"). And so that is still my intention: To create songs that are clear and potent communications--for one person, but which can be understood by many.
January 3, 2014: This is one amazing album!
I can't believe I waited so long to get this album--Brad Paisley's 10th studio album, Wheelhouse, released last year. Paisley's radio hits have always been damn good--some of my favorites ("This is Country Music," "Water," "Waitin' on a Woman" and so many others)--but there are songs on this album that you won't hear on the radio that are just as good, funny, entertaining and musical-as-hell. Great Nashville songwriting, playing and singing. #bradpaisleywheelhouse
January 1, 2014: Happy New Year!
October 2013: New single now available on i-Tunes
I have dozens of songs I am in the process of recording. In the meantime, here's one of the lucky ones I finally finished. "Flyin' with the Windows Down" is look back at those young and innocent days when a car equalled freedom...and how it would again mean freedom someday. If I have to say so myself, it's a great tune to play when you're driving fast. Crank it up and sing along (and pay attention for cops)! Download it here.
