Steven Neal Wagner on the front page! I played the Montrose Art Walk, a four-times-yearly local art fest in the sleepy little Foothills paradise of Montrose. Local ordinance prohibits amplification, so all the Art Walk musicians played unplugged, in competition with the constant racket of money jangling in peoples' pockets. Very pleasant time but a bit hard on my voice, so I packed it in after a couple hours. The following Monday, a friend informed me I am on the cover of the Glendale News Press. Not bad for a few hours' work.

My song "One of the Two" has (as news and entertainment people like to say about certain news stories or movies, etc.), "legs." I was just notified by a very nice fellow named John Kuhn that the song will soon be on Suck-Free Radio, a web radio station soon to be playing "music that doesn't suck." Another good dude named James Polen, with the website American Songspace, an extension of American Songwriter magazine, alerted me this today that "One of the Two" is on the homepage (click on an artist's picture and from there listen to their song or link to their page the site). It's a great site that gives writers a chance to increase their exposure to known artists and producers who are seeking songs for their projects.

Harriet Schock's new CD, Breakdown on Memory Lane is now out and you can get it here. It is an honor for me to report that among the remarkable songs on this collection is Harriet's version of "The Quietest Part of the Day," a song we wrote together. I like to tell people that her version of "Quietest" will make them float...and it's true. You will enjoy the whole disc.

My song "One of the Two" received an Honorable Mention in the Independent Singer-Songwriter Association song contest.

My song "Driveways" received Honorable Mention in the American Songwriter lyric contest. (It's credited to "Dodge Dart," which is a stage name I used to use and forgot to remove from the lyric sheet I submitted to the contest but you can see the the website they listed is mine.)
